Killer Kauai

Did you know that the "Good Nature" fast food chain Kauai uses chicken supplied to them by battery farming giant Rainbow? Well if you haven't heard that, now you have. It's a sad day for fans of their Thai Veg Wrap everywhere.

The ARA has sent a friendly letter to Kauai asking them to switch to a free range chicken supplier. to read our letter (which also contains information on why battery farmed chicken is unacceptable) click here and watch this space for updates.

The Cove

The ARA had the great honour last night of being a part of the pre-screening of Louie Psihoyos' The Cove. To read the our review of the movie click here.

And don't forget to catch The Cove at Cinema Nouveau's country wide (South Africa). Every ticket sold supports bringing more films like this one to our circuit. 

Vegan Cupcakes take over Westerford High School

Westerford High School- an institution known to most for it's excellent academic standards, thriving cultural life, and spirited sport portfolio, and less known (sadly) for the passion of its students.... a passion for eating that is.

The ARA Westerford Chapter challenged Westerfordians last week to come up with the most exciting vegan cupcake decorations. In true (overly competitive) Westerford form, cupcakes were decorated. The winners of the competiton (for best cupcake decorating skills are still to be anounced). In the meanwhile, take a gander at some of the pictures from the even here
